“The Reaper” Wrightson Artist Edition
The next release in our ongoing Bernie Wrightson Artist Edition series of prints will be released on Thursday July the 9th at 2pm Central.
“The Reaper” is a rarely-seen painting by Wrightson, circa 2003, which has never before been released as a print. Pick up this exclusive first-edition from Nakatomi!
Reproduced from a scan of the original canvas provided by Wrightson art collector, Kevin Kutchaver, this is the closest anyone else can come to owning the original piece. The detail on the scan is phenomenal, with the brushstrokes and weave of the canvas visible in the highlights, and the almost impossibly deep, velvety blacks of the robe absorbing the viewer’s eye. This painting was originally commissioned as part of the production of the film adaptation of Stephen King’s novella, Riding the Bullet, which featured a young artist tormented by visions of death.
This fine art giclée is printed at 18 x 24 inches- the same size as the original painting. Hand-numbered and embossed in the bottom right corner with Bernie’s distinctive “W”, this edition is limited to 300 copies worldwide. Printed on acid free 100% cotton rag natural paper, with archival inks, and produced in-house at the Nakatomi Print Labs. Prints will ship within four weeks of the release date- all domestic orders should arrive by the end of August. Nakatomi does ship internationally- delivery times will vary.
Prints will be available at 2pm Central time in the Bernie Wrightson section of the Nakatomi store HERE on Thursday the 9th of July.
Prints will retail at $75 each.
Note– as usual, the artist’s share of the proceeds from this sale will go to Bernie’s widow, Liz Wrightson.
