TAXI DRIVER by Yann Legendre
Paris-based designer Yann Legendre brings us this striking print, adapted from his cover to the French edition of the TAXI DRIVER novel!
From Yann-
“In 1974, Paul Schrader begins work on a screenplay that is going to change his life: the story of a young lonely man, Travis Bickle, ex Marines, who tries to escape from his boring life and his loneliness by becoming a cab driver.
This story is partly inspired by his own life and experiences. For developing the story, Schrader start working with a poet very popular in New York back then, Richard Elman.
More talented than Schrader, Elman develops in parallel to the screenplay, a novel, based on the character of Travis Bickle: the journal of this young naive man who discover day after day the violence and the perversion of the New York’s life… He learns the self-defense and start to do his own justice in the streets of Manhattan.”
