“Lost in Darkness and Distance” Wrightson Frankenstein print

Hello Nakatomi Peoples!

We are very excited to share our newest release in the Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein Artist Edition series, “Lost in Darkness and Distance.”

High-quality scans of the original art board were unavailable to us for years, and just last month, we received a file from the current owner of the piece! This collector (who wish to remain anonymous) reached out to us and offered to have the art scanned for us to add to our ever-growing Wrightson digital vault. We cannot overstate how thrilled we were to receive this file, as it was the last piece we needed to complete the Frankenstein archive.

“Lost in Darkness and Distance” measures 16×20″ & is hand-numbered & embossed in an edition of 300.

This beautiful piece is now available as a high-quality art print for the very first time!

Depicting the last line of Mary Shelley’s classic novel, as the creature is finally alone on the ice-
He was soon borne away by the waves, and lost in darkness and distance
The bitter cold and desolate landscape echoing his deep isolation, perfectly captured by Bernie’s masterful ink work.

Originally drawn in the late 70’s through the early 80’s, Bernie’s Frankenstein illustrations were (and remain) the height of fantasy pen-and-ink illustrations. Highly regarded, often imitated, but never surpassed. Wrightson’s work here is a triumph.

This high-quality full color reproduction of the original art board allows the viewer to see the subtle differences in the variety of ink used in the creation of Wrightson’s masterwork.

For a limited time, you can purchase the new print, and and add a second Wrightson print of equal or lesser value for 50% off. You must add both prints to your cart in order for the discount to appear. Sale ends on 12/24.
