Produced under agreement with the Wrightson estate, the newest releases in our ongoing Bernie Wrightson Artist Edition series of prints is available HERE in the Nakatomi store now!

“Mortification” and “Return to Geneva” are both first time entries in Nakatomi’s Artist Edition series.

Originally drawn in the late 70’s early 80’s, Bernie’s Frankenstein illustrations were (and remain) at the height of fantasy pen-and-ink illustrations. Highly regarded, often imitated, but never surpassed. Wrightson’s work here is a triumph.

Reproduced from direct scans of the original art board, featuring never before seen details, like Bernie’s hand-written notes, quoting the original text that inspired the illustration.

“Mortification” was created for, but never included in the original publication of Wrighton’s Frankenstein book. Presented at it’s original drawn size of 16 x 20″ in a hand-numbered and embossed edition of 300. $75, limit two per household.


“Return to Geneva” is presented at it’s original drawn size of 12×18″, in a hand-numbered and embossed edition of 300. $50, limit 2 per household.

The exacting detail of the line work in Wrightson’s work has never before been reproduced so clearly.

Both prints are reproduced from scans of the original art board, provided by film director, Frank Darabont. These print gives the viewer a glimpse into the work of a master.

Prints are Hand-numbered and embossed in the bottom corner with Bernie’s distinctive “W” logo, Printed on archival acid free 100% cotton rag natural white paper, with archival inks, produced in-house at the Nakatomi Print Labs. Prints will ship within two weeks of the release date.
